Supply-Chain Integrity

Advances in technology, combined with globalization, have facilitated counterfeiting on an unprecedented scale. This practice not only diverts revenue from makers of brand name products, but in industries such as pharmaceuticals, counterfeit and diluted products put the general public at risk. According to Interpol more than one million people die each year from counterfeit drugs!

Rocky Mountain Technical Marketing, Inc. (RMTM) has developed a supply-chain integrity solution that leverages proven encryption technology to create a robust chain-of-custody transaction log that cannot be repudiated.

RMTM’s solution not only tracks the chain of custody for goods throughout the supply chain (which can include all transporters), it also tracks the quantities of product transferred at each change of custody. The solution ensures that the quantity in circulation never exceeds the quantity produced. This removes the incentive to sell counterfeit goods. If a distributor received 300 items, it can only sell 300 items without triggering an alert. And the solution prevents gray-marketers from validating the authenticity of their products.

The solution is designed to work with sensors for important parameters such as temperature and humidity to identify goods that have become spoiled or compromised.

Equally important in many industries, the details of each transaction are stored in an encrypted form that restricts the dissemination of information in the chain-of-custody log on a need-to-know basis. The rules for “need-to-know” are customized to meet the unique requirements of each industry using the solution.

For example, if a drug required recall, the manufacturer could input a notice to the system and the system would disseminate the notice to all downstream members of the supply chain without exposing the customer information of downstream distributors to the manufacturer.

Furthermore, the encrypted log is stored in a distributed database to make it resistant to hacking. The single source of truth is determined by a preponderance of identical records stored in the distributed database.

Our solution supports existing RFID, bar code readers, and other rapid-scan equipment at each transfer point to provide integrity protection at minimal cost. It can support identification standards such as those from GS1 and can support the unique information requirements of national and regional regulators, such as serialization and global track and trace.

RMTM tailors our supply-chain integrity solution to each customer’s supply chain. It can also be used across an industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals or electronics) to allow a single solution to support the complex product web.

Medication Adherence

Failure of patients to take their medication on a timely basis is a widely recognized public health problem. For certain patients, failure to take their medication (e.g., anti-psychotics) can even have far ranging impacts on the public at large.

Rocky Mountain Technical Marketing, Inc. (RMTM) has developed a medication adherence solution that uses team games to incentivize patients to take their medication on a timely basis. Leveraging both the encouragement of team mates and the responsibility patients feel to support the team increases the likelihood of adherence.

RMTM combines this team-game approach with smart packaging to detect when pill has been dispensed and prize awards to significantly increase the likelihood of timely adherence.

Our solution opens the door to sponsorships by drug manufacturers, pharmacies, and makers of non-prescription products. Sponsors offer prizes to winning teams, but also provide a revenue source to the solution provider.

Teams can be anonymous (to protect patient privacy) or organized by disease, location (e.g., nursing homes), veteran organization, etc.

By linking patient adherence to care givers, care givers, themselves, are incented to encourage adherence and their effectiveness can be measured in support of outcome-based care.

  • We managed the design effort to develop a fully automated, portable robotic factory for demilitarizing every weapon in the US chemical arsenal without human intervention.  Weapons ranged from small arms ammunition to airplane spray tanks.  The facility destroyed both explosive and chemical materials in environmentally sound ways.  The modular facility could be moved by freight car to different arsenals around the country.
  • We developed a solution to reduce IT deskside support costs by 30%, applying a technology originally developed for hard-disk backup.
  • We designed a solution to enable medical researchers to tap a wide range of medical records databases.  Our solution transparently (1) addresses the unique schema of each database, (2) maintains privacy of the individuals whose data is included and (3) adheres to the terms and conditions (including access fees) imposed by each database owner, and (4) complies with regulatory constraints such as HIPAA.
  • We conceived of an approach to get depressed patients to be more forthcoming about what they were experiencing on a daily basis through gamification.
  • We designed a self-powered, emergency communications solution for disaster areas (both natural and man-made) that allowed collaboration of resources in the area, as well as uplinks to global resources.  The portable network could be air-dropped into areas without power or communications infrastructure.  It included “stealth” capabilities to prevent adversaries from locating it or from using/compromising the network.  It could also leverage local power and communications infrastructure, if available.

Bulk Contract Evaluator

Law firms – especially those with an active merger and acquisition practice – frequently find themselves tasked with analyzing large number of similar documents looking for critical information.  When a retailer client purchases a competitor, they may inherit hundreds or thousands of new leases.  Which ones are about to expire?  Which ones are non-standard?  Which ones have a particular term or condition?

Rocky Mountain Technical Marketing, Inc. (RMTM) has developed a solution to evaluating large number of contracts to discover salient characteristics of interest to the client.  In the lease example cited above, the bulk contract evaluator can rapidly review each lease and classify those leases set to terminate within 60 days, those that have standard terms (e.g., triple net), those over/under a particular size range, etc., saving hundreds of hours of expensive attorney time.  The same approach can be applied to a wide array of documents of a similar type, such as service contracts, non-disclosure agreements, powers of attorney.

 

Privacy Policy Analyzer
